Their investigation by the Central District Police and the Shin Bet revealed that in the months preceding their arrest, the two were in contact with Iranian intelligence elements and carried out various security missions, understanding that they were acting under Iranian direction and doing so in exchange for money. According to the facts of the indictment, during 2025, one of the defendants contacted an Iranian element via Telegram and agreed to carry out various missions for him in exchange for funds transferred to him in digital currencies. Subsequently, the defendant enlisted his brother in the activity, and the two worked together over time, aware of the nature of the element with whom they were in contact. The defendants carried out a series of actions intended to serve the foreign agent, including transferring content and information that appeared to be of a security nature, impersonating others, including a soldier in the IDF’s Unit 8200, and creating sophisticated false pretenses using advanced technological means, including artificial intelligence tools. The investigation also revealed that the defendants received payments for their activities in digital currencies amounting to over NIS 100,000, while continuing to maintain contact with the foreign agent and carry out further missions, despite suspicion that this was a hostile element acting against the State of Israel and its citizens. An indictment has been filed against the two, attributing to them offenses of contact with a foreign agent, providing information to an enemy, providing information that could benefit the enemy, and impersonating another person.
