IDF Chief of Staff: Lebanon is Now the Main Front
IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir declared Lebanon the main front, noting Iran's weakened state and readiness for renewed conflict.
Jerusalem, 9 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir said tonight that the campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon has now become Israel’s main front. “Iran before the war is not the same Iran now,” Zamir said, adding that it is “much weaker” now.
He said Israel was prepared to resume combat “with great power at any moment” if the ceasefire collapses.
Zamir did not refer to Talks With Lebanon over a possible ceasefire with Hezbollah, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced earlier today.
