Donald Trump Opens Two-Week Window on Iran
President Trump announced a two-week window for a potential Iran deal, with a missile launched toward Israel and Iran agreeing to a ceasefire.
Jerusalem, 8 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social tonight that a deal with Iran now seems possible, adding that the two sides are moving closer to an agreement and that he is allowing a two-week window before any further escalation.
Shortly after Trump’s announcement, a missile was launched toward central Israel and was intercepted, according to the latest reports. Following the incident, Iran announced that it had agreed to a ceasefire for two weeks without any reference to the attack.
the White House later clarified that the deal will come into effect only after Iran opens the Hormuz Strait.
As for Lebanon, Al Jadeed reported, citing U.S. officials, that ending the war there is supposed to be part of the deal, but the issue has not yet been fully agreed upon.
