Jerusalem, 27 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) and Shin Bet (Israel’s anti-terror General Security Service) revealed details of the attack in the northern Gaza Strip yesterday (Tuesday), in which the terrorist Muhammad Odeh, who served as the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization after the assassination of Izz al-Din Haddad, and as the head of the organization’s intelligence headquarters, was eliminated.
As part of the joint operation by the IDF and Shin Bet to eliminate terrorist Muhammad Odeh, several buildings in the heart of Gaza City that served as a hideout for him were attacked, after months of intelligence surveillance aimed at tracking his movements and the movements of his aides in the organization. At the same time, a nearby apartment belonging to a Hamas terrorist who raided on October 7 and was part of Odeh’s circle of aides was attacked.
Odeh served as the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization for the past two weeks, following the assassination of Ezz al-Din Haddad. In recent years, Odeh served as the head of the Hamas terrorist organization’s intelligence headquarters. As part of his role, he was responsible for planning and including the targets of the Hamas terrorists’ attacks and raids as part of the terrorist organization’s massacre on October 7.
In addition, throughout the war, Odeh was involved in directing numerous terrorist attacks and led the effort to collect and analyze intelligence in order to produce terrorist plans against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel. The Hamas intelligence apparatus under his command supported the organization’s terror operations.
Odeh is one of the last senior commanders in Hamas’ military wing who directed the planning and execution of the October 7 massacre and the management of the fighting against IDF forces.
