Jerusalem, 14 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli Forces continued ground operations in southern Lebanon on Tuesday, as the military reported a series of developments in and around the Hezbollah stronghold of Bint Jbeil.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, troops working in coordination with the Israeli Air Force targeted and destroyed dozens of Hezbollah positions. These included anti-tank launch sites, observation posts, and weapons storage facilities. During searches in the area, soldiers also discovered firearms, ammunition, and military gear hidden inside a civilian residence.

Fighting in Bint Jbeil intensified overnight, with the military confirming that 10 Israeli soldiers were wounded in a clash with Hezbollah operatives. Three of the injured were listed in serious condition. All were evacuated for medical treatment, and their families were notified.

Earlier Tuesday, the IDF announced the death of Major (res.) Eyal Uriel Bianco, 30, from Katzrin, who was killed when his Humvee overturned overnight. Three other reservists were injured.

The military said its forces have encircled Bint Jbeil and killed approximately 100 Hezbollah fighters in recent days. The village, about two kilometers from the border, overlooks several northern Israeli communities.

On Sunday, Israeli forces raided a hospital in Bint Jbeil used by Hezbollah to store and transfer weapons, conduct surveillance, and even fire on soldiers.
