Jerusalem, 1 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, and Mifal HaPais, the national lottery, launched the “Energy Channel in Local Authorities,” a financing framework to accelerate renewable energy and efficiency projects in municipalities.
The program offers subsidized loans at prime minus 1.25% for up to ten years, alongside grants and professional guidance. Funding will support solar roofs, energy storage facilities, green building upgrades, and efficiency improvements, with an emphasis on projects that enhance emergency resilience.
According to The Ministry, the initiative could enable storage capacity of around 600 megawatt-hours across public buildings and solar installations on about 3,500 sports fields, adding shading and clean energy generation. Officials said the scheme aims to reduce costs and strengthen local authority financial stability.
