Millions Allocated to Fund Community Resilience Center Operations to End of Year
Israel allocates 33.6 million Shekels to fund 15 community resilience centers through end of 2026, bolstering emergency preparedness nationwide.
Jerusalem, 8 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — As part of its steps to strengthen civilian resilience, the government of Israel ensured the continued operation of 15 community resilience centers across the country through to the end of 2026.
The Ministry of Health will allocate approximately 33.6 million Shekels ($10.5 million) for the operation and expansion of the resilience centers – which also includes funds from the budgets of other government ministries. An additional 30 million Shekels will be allocated for the continued operation of the centers, and an additional 15 million shekels will be allocated to strengthen the resilience centers in the north, managed by Tnufa.
There are currently 15 resilience centers operating in Israel: five municipal centers providing services to residents of the communities surrounding Gaza, four regional centers in Judea and Samaria, a regional resilience center providing services to Bedouin society in the south, and a municipal resilience center in Ashkelon, a regional resilience center in Netivot, Bnei Shimon and Merhavim, and a center in Ofakim, as well as the national resilience center. In addition, two additional centers operate on the basis of contracts with local authorities: a resilience center in the Eastern Galilee cluster and a resilience center in the Western Galilee cluster.
The resilience centers work to strengthen community resilience, strengthen local coping resources, and prepare for emergencies. Within this framework, they maintain active interfaces with education and welfare agencies in all matters relating to working with youth and other populations, under regular intervention plans that are developed and joint policy documents by the relevant professional agencies in the partner government ministries.
