The Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District arrested a vehicle theft ring while they were attempting to steal vehicles in central Israel tonight, during an operation by the Judea and Samaria District’s Central Unit.

The force operating at the scene apprehended the suspects in the act, thereby foiling the vehicle theft. During a search of the suspects’ belongings, tools for breaking into vehicles and additional keys were seized. Concurrently with their arrest, the vehicle that assisted them was located, carrying two additional suspects who attempted to flee. During their attempted apprehension, the vehicle broke through a police roadblock and began driving recklessly against traffic, posing a real danger to road users and the forces at the scene. The two suspects who were arrested, residents of the Shechem and Jenin areas, aged 16 and 19, were transferred for investigation at the Minorities Division of the Judea and Samaria District (YAMAS) and the investigation is ongoing. Further arrests of additional suspects are expected as part of the investigation.
