Jerusalem, 25 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Tourism Minister Haim Katz signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Israel and Argentina during a working visit to Buenos Aires. The MoU is intended to expand exchanges between both countries, boost innovation in products and services, and generate new sources of employment in the tourism sector.

The move, said his office, will “strengthen the bilateral relationship and promote joint activity in the field of tourism.”

As part of his working visit to Argentina, Tourism Minister Haim Katz first met with his Argentine counterpart Foreign Minister Pablo Quirno. During the meeting, the two agreed to work to expand ties between the countries in the areas of tourism, trade and the economy, as well as to encourage the opening of a direct flight from Tel Aviv to Buenos Aires.

The parties emphasized the shared values and historical connection between the peoples, along with the potential for deepening the relationship in the future.

Minister Quirno said the agreement, “promotes investments, strengthens coordination between our private sectors, and enhances the promotion of destinations” and declared this to be “another step toward deepening the bilateral relationship and creating new opportunities for growth for Argentina and Israel.”

“Tourism is a bridge between peoples and cultures, and today’s signing expresses the shared desire to turn the friendship between Israel and Argentina into real action on the ground,” said Minister Katz. “We will work together to develop tourism products, exchange knowledge, and joint marketing for the benefit of visitors from both sides.”
