Jerusalem, 11 November, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Economy and Industry is promoting a new “What Is Good for America Is Good for Israel” program. It published Tuesday a memorandum to the Standards Law that will allow for another new track for the import, production, and sale of products that must meet an official standard – also based on production in the US and compliance with the requirements of American federal regulations.
“The move will allow for expanding the variety of products, increasing competition, and lowering prices for the israeli consumer.,” said the Ministry.
Similar to the “What is good for Europe is good for Israel” reform, which was launched at the beginning of the year, this is another step towards opening the Israeli economy to freer and more competitive imports.
Among the products included in the first phase of the reform, which is expected to come into effect in the second half of 2026: children’s toys, children’s and baby furniture (beds, playpens, cribs, high chairs for eating), mattresses, pacifiers, baby feeding accessories, baby swings and trampolines, children’s jewelry, bicycles, ladders, lighters, dinnerware and food packaging, cleaning materials.
