The Consumer Confidence Indicator Up in August
Israel’s consumer confidence indicator rises in August 2025, showing increased optimism for large purchases. Find out more.
Jerusalem, 18 September, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics reported that the consumer confidence index for August 2025 stood at -22%, up 3% from July.
There was a change in one of the four balance sheets that make up the index:
The balance relating to individuals’ intentions for large purchases in the coming year compared to the last year increased to -32% (from -43%).
The relative consumer confidence index stands at 66.
The consumer confidence index is bounded in the range between minus 100 and plus 100. The closer the index value is to the positive limit the more it indicates greater optimism among individuals, and the closer the value of the index is to the negative limit it indicates greater pessimism.
An index close to zero indicates a lack of expectations for a change in the situation.
The methodology of the survey complies with the guidelines of the OECD organization for surveys of this type.
