Jerusalem, 7 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — The Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court sentenced Shai Peretz, a police officer who served as a cavalry officer in the Israel Police and was convicted of assaulting a woman while performing his duties, to probation and compensation for the victim of the offense.
According to Peretz’s conviction, at a demonstration held about two years ago in Tel Aviv, during the evacuation of protesters who were blocking the Ayalon Highway, the defendant rode towards the complainant, and the horse stepped on her leg. He then repeatedly whipped her with the reins. The defendant pleaded not guilty, but after hearing all the evidence, the court convicted him.
