Jerusalem, 12 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of transportation said the planning of the metro network in the Tel Aviv region has been completed: the plan for the last section of the M1 line has been approved.

In what the Ministry called “significant progress in the largest transportation project in the history of the State of Israel,” the National Infrastructure Committee (NIC) approved today (Monday) Plan 101D, marking the completion of the planning phase of the metro network in the Dan Bloc. This is an important milestone in a project that is supposed to bring about a large-scale transportation revolution in the metropolis, said the Ministry.

The approved section, part of the northern arm of the M1 line, will connect Kfar Saba and Hod Hasharon to the metropolitan center. This fully completes the statutory planning phase of the metro network, which will include approximately 150 kilometers of underground tunnels and 109 stations, and serve approximately 2 million passengers per day – approximately 450 million trips per year.
