Jerusalem, 24 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Seventy-two Israeli lawmakers from across the political spectrum signed a declaration supporting Taiwan’s inclusion in international organizations. The initiative, led by MK Boaz Toporovsky and MK Ohad Tal, emphasizes shared democratic values and thanks Taiwan for its support of Israel since October 7. The declaration criticizes Taiwan’s exclusion from bodies such as the World Health Organization, the International Civil Aviation Organization, and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, calling it unjustified.
Taiwan’s representative in Israel, Abby Lee, welcomed the move as a historic show of solidarity among democracies. The lawmakers also urged stronger cooperation with Taiwan in innovation, health, education, and economic development.
