Israeli Aircraft Dispatched to Cyprus as Wildfires Kill Two

Israeli Air Force dispatches aircraft to Cyprus to aid in battling deadly wildfires. Two killed, 10 injured in 101 sq km blaze.

Jerusalem, 24 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel is sending Air Force aircraft to help Cyprus combat deadly wildfires, Israel’s Foreign Ministry announced Thursday.

The firefighting planes are set to depart this evening.

“The State of Israel stands by Cyprus, a neighboring and close friend, and is committed to extending a helping hand in times of emergency,” the Foreign Ministry said.

Two people were killed and 10 more injured in the blazes that torched 101 square kilometers of land north of Limassol.
