Jerusalem, 6 July, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security reported that 92.3% of fruits and vegetable in Israel met the country’s standard for levels of pesticides. This is according to the Pesticide Residue Report in Local Fruits and Vegetables for 2024.

According to the findings, out of 1,003 samples of 76 different crops, approximately 55% were found to be free of all pesticide residues, i.e. zero pesticides. 92.3% of all samples were found to be normal, while only 7.7% were found to have abnormalities. Of all the samples found to have pesticide residues (45.5% of the samples), 96.1% of the pesticides found were within the normal range.

Among other things: Zero abnormalities in tomatoes, which stood out on the shelf following the Turkish boycott, and in grapes.

Of the 1,003 samples in the survey, 416, about 41.5%, are samples of vegetables and field crops; About 43.1%, 432 samples, are fruit samples (including citrus), and about another 15.4% (155) are spices.

The samples were taken from all regions of the country: 180 samples from the southern region, 373 from the central region, 171 samples from the Arava region and 279 samples from the northern region.
