Jerusalem, 28 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Construction and Housing signed a large-scale umbrella agreement for the development of the Arab local council Jadeidi-Makr – located northeast of Haifa – with an investment of over 2 billion Shekels ($570 million), on the way to increasing the town’s size threefold.
The agreement includes the planning and construction of approximately 6,300 new housing units on state land, alongside an addition of approximately 147,000 square meters of commercial and employment space.
“This is a move that is expected to triple the population of the settlement and move it towards receiving city status,” said the Ministry of Housing.
