Israel’s Education System to Hold Remote Learning As Schools Are Closed Due to Iran Conflict

Jerusalem, 1 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — After a security situation assessment in accordance with the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Home Front Command’s guidelines according to which physical educational activity will not take place due to ongoing fighting with Iran, Israel’s Ministry of Education determined the remote learning outline for the coming days for the entire education system.

“The outline is intended to ensure educational and pedagogical continuity, while focusing in the early days on strengthening personal and national resilience and laying an emotional infrastructure that will enable continued orderly learning in accordance with developments,” said the Ministry.

Starting tomorrow, Monday, March 2nd, remote learning will take place in the following format:
In Jewish communities:

On Monday, a distance learning day will be held with an emphasis on creating personal connection, educational discourse, and emotional processing. The meetings will address aspects related to the holiday of Purim and the Fast of Esther, while adjusting the structure of the day and the nature of the activity according to age stages.

Regarding Tuesday-Wednesday, the Purim holiday, action will be taken in accordance with the situation assessment and security guidelines.

In Arab, Bedouin, Druze and Circassian communities:

Remote learning sessions will be held in accordance with pedagogical recommendations, with an emphasis on creating continuous contact with students and maintaining educational discourse and emotional processing.

Instructions to parents and students regarding meeting times and links to learning will be conveyed directly by the educational teams. Parents are asked to stay updated on home־school media channels.
