The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the jewish agency will allocate a budget of approximately 400,000 shekels for the launch of a campaign to find Haimnot | The planned campaign is expected to be published on billboards and social networks | Committee Chairman MK Kariv: “I request to receive by next Sunday the timelines for launching the campaign”

The Committee for Aliyah, Integration, and diaspora affairs, headed by MK Gilad Kariv (Labor), convened today (Wednesday) for a discussion on the launch of an awareness campaign regarding the disappearance of the girl Haimnot Kassaw.

Since the disappearance of Haimnot Kassaw on February 25, 2024, the committee has demanded that the Ministry of aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency launch and fund a public campaign to raise awareness of her disappearance.

In the summer of 2024, an outdoor campaign was launched at train stations that lasted only one week. The campaign included extensive advertising and the announcement of a monetary reward of 350,000 NIS for anyone who provides information leading to Haimnot’s location.

MK Gilad Kariv, Chairman of the Committee for Aliyah, Integration, and Diaspora Affairs:

“The Ministry of Aliyah and Integration has committed to launching a public campaign that will increase awareness of the search for Haimnot. I request clear answers as to why we are still not seeing such a campaign. I request to receive by next Sunday the timelines for launching the advertising campaign.”

Danny Adeno Abba, spokesperson for the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration: “We have held several joint meetings with the Jewish Agency related to launching the campaign on the subject of Haimnot Kassaw. We aim to create a campaign that will emphasize that Haimnot is everyone’s child, including offering a monetary reward to anyone who provides effective and efficient information. At this stage, a company has already been selected to produce the advertising campaign. The campaign budget will be approximately 400,000 shekels, jointly funded by the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency. We are aiming for an advertising campaign on billboards and social networks.”

Tesfai Kassaw, Haimnot’s father: “I thank everyone involved in the effort to find my daughter. I thought that today the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration would present us with the campaign, but that did not happen. We have been demanding to see a significant campaign for two years. We are in direct contact with the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration and the Jewish Agency and are asking them to apply the appropriate pressure to find my daughter.”

MK Tsegay Malako (Likud): “I thank the Committee Chairman MK Kariv for his persistence in discussions until Haimnot is found. I am disappointed with the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration for not yet launching a significant public campaign.”

Committee Chairman MK Kariv summarized the discussion:

“We will hold another follow-up discussion next week, at which time I want the Ministry of Aliyah and Integration to present the campaign. In addition, I intend to hold a private and more intimate conversation with the Kassaw family to understand in depth how we can provide broader assistance.”
