Theand the Shin Bet Spokesperson announce that in an attack in northern Gaza Strip yesterday (Tuesday), the terrorist Muhammad Odeh was eliminated. He served as the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization after the elimination of Azz al-Din Haddad, and as the head of the organization’s intelligence directorate.
As part of the joint operation by the IDF and the Shin Bet to eliminate the terrorist Muhammad Odeh, several structures in the heart of Gaza City, which served as a hiding place for him, were attacked. This followed months of intelligence surveillance aimed at tracking his movements and those of his assistants in the organization. Simultaneously, a nearby apartment belonging to a Hamas terrorist who participated in the October 7th attack and was part of Odeh’s network of assistants was attacked.
Odeh served as the head of the military wing of the Hamas terrorist organization for the past two weeks, following the elimination of Azz al-Din Haddad. In recent years, Odeh served as the head of the intelligence directorate of the Hamas terrorist organization. In his role, he was responsible for planning and coordinating the attack and raid targets of Hamas terrorists as part of the terrorist organization’s massacre on October 7th.
In addition, throughout the war, Odeh was involved in directing numerous attacks and led the effort to collect and analyze intelligence for the purpose of carrying out terror plots against IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel. The Hamas terrorist organization’s intelligence system under his command supported the organization’s terror operations and provided the framework for its actions, which posed a threat to IDF forces and citizens of the State of Israel.
Odeh is among the last senior commanders in Hamas’s military wing who commanded the planning and execution of the October 7th massacre and the management of the fighting against IDF forces. His elimination constitutes a significant blow to the recovery efforts of the Hamas terrorist organization.
