Millions Allocated to Restore Agriculture in Gaza Area
Israel's Ministry of Agriculture and Tekoma Directorate are investing $24 million to restore and develop agriculture near the Gaza border.
Jerusalem, 5 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security and the Tekoma Directorate will invest 72 million Shekels ($24 million) to restore and develop agriculture in the Tekuma region, by the Gaza border. The move will continue the momentum of growth in the region’s agriculture, preserving its agricultural character and strengthening the farms, which constitute the backbone of settlement and the economy in the region’s rural areas.
“The move constitutes another step in strengthening the resilience of the Israeli energy sector, and is intended to examine the establishment of a storage facility that will ensure the continuity of the supply of natural gas to the electricity and industrial sectors, and respond to demand even in emergency situations, disruptions in supply, or shortages during peak consumption hours,” said The Ministry.
