Upgrade of Local Roads in Druze Communities Continues
Israel's Transportation Minister Miri Regev launches a ₪6 million roundabout project in Yanuh-Jat, boosting safety and access for the Druze community.
Jerusalem, 3 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s minister of Transportation and Road Safety, Brigadier General (res.) Miri Regev, today (Tuesday) laid a cornerstone for the Druze Heritage House Square in the village of Yanuh-Jat located east of Acre. The Transportation Ministry called the new traffic roundabout a “significant transportation and safety project” that will regulate traffic at a central intersection in the heart of the settlement, close to the center of the Druze Heritage House.
The roundabout, which will be built on El Erez Street, is expected to contribute to reducing speeds, improving safety, and providing convenient and safe access for visitors to the Heritage Center and road users. The planning budget, totaling approximately 800,000 Shekels, has been approved and the planning is being carried out by the Ayalon Highways Company. Upon completion of the planning phase, the project will be implemented, at a cost of approximately six million Shekels ($1.9 million).
The project is part of a broad and unprecedented initiative led by Minister Regev to develop and upgrade transportation and safety infrastructure in Druze, Arab and Bedouin communities.
