Jerusalem, 5 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli authorities have arrested and indicted a Rishon Lezion resident on suspicion of carrying out intelligence-gathering missions for Iranian operatives, including photographing near the home of former prime minister Naftali Bennett, it was cleared for publication on Monday.
According to the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the israel police, the suspect, Lachao Damsash, was in contact with Iranian intelligence elements and carried out a range of tasks at their direction in exchange for payment. The money was allegedly transferred through digital wallets on the Binance trading platform. Damash was arrested in December.
The investigation found that Damsash was identified after photographing near Bennett’s residence. Damash later told authorities that his handler had instructed him to purchase a road camera, an old mobile phone, and a SIM card to maintain contact. The camera was installed in his vehicle in a way that allowed remote access and live video transmission using a username and password. After parking near Bennett’s home on December 3, security guards approached Damsash, prompting him to flee the scene. He was arrested about a week later.
Prosecutors allege that the defendant also documented a street in Herzliya for several hours using the car-mounted camera. Additional filming missions were allegedly carried out in Yavne and Petah Tikva. He is also accused of traveling to shopping malls in Rishon Lezion and Ashdod, filming his routes, and sending the footage to his handler for payment.
Other tasks included purchasing cigarettes and drinks at kiosks in various cities and sending receipts to the foreign agent. According to the indictment, Damsash continued to act on the agent’s instructions despite suspecting their nature.
Security officials said the case resembles a previously disclosed investigation involving Vadim Kupriyanov, who was also accused of photographing near Bennett’s home and was later indicted on serious espionage charges.

Israeli authorities arrested two suspects in northern Israel recently for planning to travel abroad for ISIS terrorist training, revealing a growing internal.

Jerusalem, 17 December, 2025 (TPS-IL) — Two residents of northern Israel were arrested for suspected involvement in the Islamic State terror group, the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and Israel Police announced on Wednesday.
Arrested in recent weeks was 20-year-old Kinan Azaiza of the Nazareth-area town of Daburiyya and a second resident of Akko.
According to the authorities, both suspects were believed to have been in contact with foreign ISIS operatives and were preparing to travel illegally abroad for terrorist training. Authorities said the individuals had taken steps to carry out security-related activities on behalf of the organization.
During questioning, investigators determined that Azaiza had sworn allegiance to ISIS, expressed willingness to conduct security operations, and had considered targeting Israeli soldiers. He also reportedly communicated with foreign ISIS elements, learned to manufacture explosives, and planned to travel overseas for further training.
Officials noted that the arrests come amid an increased threat from ISIS supporters in Israel and a rise in involvement by Israeli Arabs in terrorism, particularly in the context of the ongoing war.
Following the investigation, the Northern District Attorney’s Office will submit an indictment against Azaiza to the Nazareth District Court.
An Israeli-Arab was found shot to death on Wednesday, the second since Tuesday night bringing to 89 the number of Israeli-Arabs homicides in 2025.
Jerusalem, 7 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — An Israeli-Arab was found shot to death on Wednesday, the second since Tuesday night bringing to 89 the number of Israeli-Arabs homicides in 2025.
The police have opened an investigation following a shooting incident in the Israeli-Arab city of Barta’a. Police identified the victim as a resident of the nearby Israeli-Arab town of Kafr Qara in his 30s.
“The injured man was lying unconscious, without a pulse and without breathing, with penetrating injuries to his body,” said Magen David Adom paramedic Yaska Ben-Nun. “His injury was critical and we were forced to declare him dead at the scene.”
On Tuesday night, a 50-year-old woman was shot and killed in Lod. The victim, found in her car outside her home was identified of Sahar Abu Hajjaj.
Several suspects have been arrested but police did not indicate a possible motive.
The spike is a continuation of 230 murders in 2024 documented by the Abraham Initiative, a non-profit organization that promotes Arab integration into Israeli society. In 2023, a record number of 244 Israeli-Arabs were murdered, more than double the 120 homicides in 2022.
The surge in violence is attributed to organized crime groups fighting turf battles and trying to eliminate rivals. Arab criminal organizations have been involved in extortion, money laundering, and trafficking in weapons, drugs and women.
In a series of arrests highlighting a pattern of identity fraud, illegal employment and violence, Israeli authorities arrested four Palestinians in separate incidents for staying in Israel illegally, the police announced on Wednesday.
Jerusalem, 7 May, 2025 (TPS-IL) — In a series of arrests highlighting a pattern of identity fraud, illegal employment and violence, Israeli authorities arrested four Palestinians in separate incidents for staying in Israel illegally, the police announced on Wednesday.
The first arrest came after a Jerusalem hospital reported that a man seeking treatment was using a stolen identity. Officers found the suspect, a Bethlehem resident in his 20s, in possession of a health insurance card and documents belonging to an Israeli citizen. Police said the suspect had “habitually impersonated” the individual in order to receive medical services fraudulently, noting that he had a previous conviction for the same crime.
“Upon uploading the cardholder’s details, it was revealed that he had previously filed a complaint for identity theft,” police said.
The suspect was charged with impersonation to commit fraud and illegal residence.
During a separate eastern Jerusalem police operation, a Palestinian man in his 50s was found working at a construction site without a permit. The site’s owner, a local woman in her 40s, was also arrested on suspicion of employing him illegally. Both were released under restrictive conditions, and police said an indictment is expected soon.
A third investigation unfolded after police received a tip about a violent domestic incident. Officers arrested a man in his 30s who had allegedly assaulted his partner and mother in eastern Jerusalem. Further checks revealed he was living illegally in Israel under false pretenses.
“The suspect not only committed violent offenses but was residing unlawfully, violating both criminal and immigration laws,” police said. His detention has been extended until May 8 as investigations continue.
In a fourth case, linked to a violent clash between two families in eastern Jerusalem, police raided a residence and arrested a 19-year-old Palestinian from Hebron. Officers found him hiding in a house belonging to one of the families involved in the dispute. Two firearms were seized in the operation.
The suspect, who was unlawfully residing in Israel, was indicted following his questioning. The car wash where the shooting took place was closed for 30 days.
