Israeli security forces launched a large-scale operation in Azzun, arresting 11 suspects and seizing 13 stolen utility vehicles to combat stone-throwing attacks.

Following a recent increase in stone-throwing attacks originating from the village of Azzun, in the Ephraim Brigade area, targeting Route 55 and resulting in injuries to Israeli civilians traveling on the road, a focused enforcement operation was launched in the village.

This week, dozens of Border Police officers, together with Judea and Samaria District officers and IDF troops from the Ephraim Brigade, carried out a large-scale operation in the village.

During the activity, forces conducted raids on several targets, carried out arrests and searches, and implemented focused enforcement measures in the area.

In addition, forces searched several garages and vehicle lots in the village in order to locate stolen vehicles, based on intelligence and an ongoing investigation by the Border Police Major Crimes Unit into multiple thefts of utility vehicles from communities near the security barrier in central Israel.

Based on the intelligence gathered, forces seized 13 stolen utility vehicles, which were transferred for further investigation and are expected to be returned to their lawful owners.

During the operation, 11 suspects were arrested and detained for questioning on various offenses and were transferred for further investigation.

This activity is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen law enforcement and governance in the area. Security forces will continue to act decisively to safeguard road users and maintain public order.
