Jerusalem, 25 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar sent a letter to the UN Security Council on Wednesday, in which he outlined the activities of the Hezbollah terror organizations since it began to fire on Israel from bases in Lebanon shortly after the current conflict with Iran began last month.
“Hezbollah has carried out over 3,500 attacks against Israel since March 2. They have declared it a terrorist organization,” wrote Sa’ar in the letter, which was delivered through the US president and which was also forwarded to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres.
In the letter, Minister Saar detailed the serious attacks by the terrorist organization Hezbollah from Lebanese soil towards Israel and demanded that steps be taken against it and against the Iranian regime. In the letter, Minister Saar demands an unequivocal condemnation of Hezbollah for its serious violations, and to define it as a terrorist organization.
Minister Saar also called on Lebanon to fulfill its obligations to disarm Hezbollah and disarm other armed organizations and he called on the Security Council and the Secretary-General to treat Iran as “a threat to international peace and security and as the main source of regional instability.”
The Minister also demanded that they hold the Iranian regime responsible for continuing to arm and transfer funds to Hezbollah.
Minister Saar noted that the Lebanese government “bears responsibility for ensuring the full and effective implementation of its commitments, including taking significant action against Hezbollah’s control of state institutions.”
