Israel’s Defense Minister Pledges to Target Anyone Appointed New Leader of Iranian Regime
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz pledged to target any appointed leader of Iran's regime, citing threats to Israel, the US, and regional stability.
Jerusalem, 4 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Defense Minister Israel Katz released a statement unequivocally declaring Israel’s intention to eliminate anyone who may be appointed to be the next leader of Iran’s Islamist regime.
“Any leader appointed by the Iranian terrorist regime to continue leading the plan to destroy Israel, to threaten the United States and the free world and the countries of the region, and to suppress the Iranian people – will be an unequivocal target for elimination,” he said. “It does not matter what his name is and where he hides.”
“We will continue to act with all our might, together with our American partners, to crush the regime’s capabilities and create the conditions for the Iranian people to overthrow and replace it,” added Katz.
