Jerusalem, 16 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The IDF (Israel Defense Forces) reported that in recent days, forces of its 91st Division – the Galilee Formation – have begun focused ground activity targeting key objectives in southern Lebanon to expand Israel’s forward defense zone against Hezbollah.
This operation, explained the IDF, is part of its effort to establish the forward defense, which includes the destruction of terror infrastructures and the elimination of terrorists operating in the area, in order to remove threats and create an additional layer of security for the residents of the north.
Prior to the entry of the forces, the IDF struck numerous terror targets in the area using artillery and the Air Force to remove threats.
The division’s forces continue in parallel with the mission of defending the Galilee settlements, alongside the 146th (Res) Division.
