Israeli forces rescued an Israeli citizen from Shechem after he entered the Palestinian city on a scooter, reportedly aiming for Joseph's Tomb.
Jerusalem, 23 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israeli forces rescued an Israeli citizen from Shechem (Nablus) overnight who has been transferred to police custody for questioning, the Israel Police said.
Israel’s Civil Administration received a report about an Israeli man wandering around Shechem, posing a risk to his safety.
An investigation indicates the man entered Shechem on a scooter, hoping to reach Joseph’s Tomb.
It is illegal for Israeli citizens to enter Area A of the Palestinian Authority. Visits to the Joseph’s Tomb must be coordinated with the Israel Defense Forces.
