Israeli Agency Refutes UN Official’s Claim of Starvation in Gaza
Israel's COGAT agency denies UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese's claims of starvation in Gaza, asserting hundreds of aid trucks enter daily.
Jerusalem, 4 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Israeli agency COGAT (Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories: Judea and Samaria and towards the Gaza Strip) refuted claims made by Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories that Israel is denying food to the people in Gaza.
“Israel isn’t starving Gaza,” said COGAT. “Hundreds of trucks are entering every day. Gaza has more than enough food. But since when do the facts bother Francesca from publishing lies?
The following was posted to social media by Albanese, as COGAT pointed out, just 24 hours after the crossings to Gaza reopened, which followed a temporary two-day closure caused by the threat of Iranian missile strikes.
“As the world is distracted AGAIN (use of all capital letters hers) by more war and manufactured despair, Israel is AGAIN (use of all capital letters hers) deliberately starving Gaza,” she wrote. “Don’t be fooled: a so-called ‘board of peace’ that presides over this level of suffering isn’t diplomacy; it’s a grim omen of the world to come, if we don’t stop it.”
