Jerusalem, 1 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Since the outbreak of Operation “Roaring Lion” against Iran |Saturday morning, Israel’s Ministry of Environmental Protection has been prepared to handle factories and sites containing hazardous materials. In times of emergency, the Ministry’s professional elements serve as support for the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) Home Front Command, examining the protection of factories, the functioning of emergency teams, operational preparedness, and the inventory of hazardous materials – this is part of the national effort to maintain public and environmental security.
Within this framework, the ministry’s professional bodies assist in examining the compliance of factories containing hazardous materials with the Home Front Command’s guidelines for safety protection, including examining the competence of the factory emergency teams, warning and control measures, and operating procedures in times of emergency. The activity is carried out in close cooperation between the ministry’s emergency drives, the city associations for environmental quality, and the environmental units, with the aim of reducing risks and strengthening preparedness in the field.
