Jerusalem, 21 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — An Iranian missile struck Dimona in southern Israel, causing dozens of injuries and extensive material damage, according to Israeli sources and Magen David Adom.
Magen David Adom initially reported around 20 casualties, but later estimates raised the number to nearly 40. Among the wounded are a 10-year-old boy and a woman in her 40s, listed in moderate condition, while the majority sustained light injuries.
According to initial reports, multiple impact sites were recorded across the city, with damage to residential buildings, vehicles, and infrastructure. In one case, a building partially collapsed. Many of the injuries were caused either by shrapnel or while civilians were rushing to shelters following the activation of air raid sirens.
Dimona is considered an area of high strategic importance due to its proximity to Israel’s nuclear facilities, adding significant weight to the incident. The facilities have not been affected whatsoever.
Israeli authorities are continuing to assess the damage, while emergency crews and ambulances remain deployed at the impact sites.
