Explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) forces from the Coastal District are continuing their operations in the field at this time to neutralize unexploded submunitions and are asking the public to increase their vigilance. A cluster bomb disperses a large number of submunitions in the area, posing a threat over a wide area. Many of them remain in the field in a “dud” state and are sensitive to any touch, movement, or shaking that could detonate them immediately, thus endangering lives. If you encounter a suspicious object resembling a submunition, move away from the area and dial 100. Only police EOD technicians are authorized to safely handle, neutralize, and clear the area. Civilian discipline saves lives.
