David's Sling air defense system, a critical Israeli defense layer, successfully completed advanced tests against diverse threats, showcasing high performance.
Jerusalem, 11 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Defense’s Defense Directorate, together with the US Missile Defense Agency (MDA) and Rafael, a defense corporation, reported that it successfully completed a series of tests on the advanced “David’s Sling” air defense system, which is designed to intercept various threats, including rockets, missiles, cruise missiles, aircraft and drones.
The series of tests, which was built on operational lessons learned from combat, included a variety of challenging scenarios in accordance with existing and evolving threats.
“The success of the tests constitutes another technological and operational leap forward in upgrading the system, which demonstrated high performance capabilities during the war with successful interceptions that saved human lives and prevented heavy damage,” said the Ministry of Defense.
The “David’s Sling” system constitutes a central layer of defense in the State of Israel’s multi-layered defense system, which also includes the “Arrow”, “Iron Dome” and “Or Eitan” systems, the laser system recently delivered to the Air Force.
