$83 Million in Funds Intended for the Palestinian Authority Confiscated and Transferred to Victims of Arab Terror in Israel

Israel's Jerusalem Enforcement Bureau has transferred $83 million from Palestinian Authority funds to victims of terror attacks, including the 2002 bus bombing.

Jerusalem, 25 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Jerusalem Enforcement Bureau recently collected 258 million Shekels ($83 million) for the families of martyrs and victims of terrorism and hostilities, following foreclosures it imposed on Palestinian Authority funds in the Ministry of Finance.

The funds were immediately transferred to representatives of the families in 125 enforcement cases, which were opened based on compensation determined in the rulings issued by various courts.

Those compensated included victims of the suicide attack on bus line number 32 at the Pat Junction in Jerusalem, carried out in 2002, in which 19 people were murdered and 74 injured, as well as to the families of the murdered, and the suicide bombing at Cafe Hillel in Jerusalem in 2003, Where a Palestinian terrorist Murdered seven Israelis and injured 57.

Funds collected were also paid to enforcement cases opened for the terrorist attack on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem in 2001, in which 11 people were murdered. Regarding this serious terrorist incident, a ruling was issued in 2024 against the Palestinian Authority and the Palestine Liberation Organization, which determined compensation for damages caused to the estate of the murdered, according to the Terrorism Victims Compensation Law, in the amount of 10 million Shekels ($3.2 million).

Funds were also transferred to the Families of those murdered in a suicide attack on bus 19 in Jerusalem in 2004, which was carried out by a Palestinian policeman, in which 11 people were murdered and 44 injured, and to the families of those murdered in the 2016 Sarona Market shooting attack in Tel Aviv, carried out by two Palestinian terrorists. Four people were murdered and 21 were injured in the attack.
