7 Arrested in Jordan Valley Attack Investigation
Seven suspects arrested in Jordan Valley attack investigation involving assault, robbery, and indecent acts near Beka'ot settlement.
The investigation is ongoing. The investigation into the violent incident that occurred near the settlement of Beka’ot in the Jordan Valley on March 13th has been conducted by the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District, along with additional security forces, since its occurrence when IDF and police forces were called to the scene. On that day, in the early morning hours, according to suspicion, a number of extremist rioters arrived at the Bedouin encampment in the village of Khamsa, raided the village structures, and removed its inhabitants, while handcuffing them, assaulting them, and even committing indecent acts against one of them. In addition, the rioters caused damage to the site and stole property and sheep. Upon the arrival of Judea and Samaria District police officers and IDF forces at the scene, an investigation began, which included collecting testimonies and findings along with forensic identification officers. Subsequently, the investigation was assigned to the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District, and a gag order was issued by the court on the details of the investigation of the affair. During the days that have passed, the Central Unit of the Judea and Samaria District has arrested seven suspects for offenses of assault, armed robbery, severe violence, and indecent acts. The arrest of six of them has been extended from time to time. Yesterday, the court ordered the release of one of the suspects under restrictive conditions, and the detention of the others was extended. The investigation is ongoing.
