Prime Minister's Office Security

My wife and I, along with all citizens of Israel, share in the deep sorrow and extend our condolences to the families of two combat engineering soldiers, Sergeant Major Maher Khatar and an additional soldier whose name has not yet been cleared for publication, who fell in battle in southern Lebanon. Maher, of blessed memory, a brave fighter from the Druze community, was an example and inspiration to young people from Majdal Shams who enlist in the IDF – a trend that has been growing in recent years, which is an expression of the eternal covenant between us. Maher, of blessed memory, and the additional fighter who fell fought heroically to protect our communities and our citizens against the Hezbollah terrorist organization. We bow our heads to their falling and are committed to defending our northern border against any threat. May their memory be blessed and preserved forever.
