Police Foil Attempt to Smuggle 77,000 Eggs with Counterfeit Seals from Palestinian Areas
Israel's Ministry of Agriculture and Border Police seized 77,000 eggs with counterfeit seals, along with unsupervised meat and beans, from Palestinian areas.
Jerusalem, 17 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security inspectors, Border Police and other authorities thwarted attempts to smuggle approximately 77,000 unsupervised eggs with counterfeit seals that do not meet health standards into Israel from the areas of the Palestinian Authority.
They also foiled the smuggling of 250 kg of unsupervised meat and 150 kg of green beans.
Due to the danger to the public, the eggs were destroyed and criminal proceedings were opened against the suspects.
