Police chief visits Jerusalem envelope border

Israel Police chief Dani Levi visited the Jerusalem Envelope region, focusing on terror threats, infiltration prevention, and securing the border.

Earlier today, the Inspector General of the Israel Police, Ranach Dani Levi, visited the Jerusalem Envelope region along the seam line, where he closely observed the activities of the Jerusalem Envelope Border Police fighters and the operational challenges in the area, with an emphasis on terror threats, preventing infiltration and entry, locating illegal residents, and strengthening the security barrier in the area.

The visit was attended by the Deputy Inspector General of the Police, Major General Yair Hatzroni; the Commander of the Border Police, Major General Barak Yitzhak; the Commander of the Jerusalem District, Major General Avshalom Peled; the Head of the Operations Division, Major General David Filo; the Commander of the Jerusalem Envelope Border Police, Brigadier General Eran Levi; and the Commander of the Kedem Subdistrict, Brigadier General Yaniv Moyal.

During the visit, the Inspector General received a briefing from the Commander of the Jerusalem Envelope Border Police and the Commander of the Border Police on the characteristics of the area and the operational challenges along the seam line, including the challenge of security crossings, the challenge of the seam line and the barrier, a wide geographical deployment overseeing several districts, and the need for a continuous response to changing security threats.

As part of the briefing, the Inspector General was presented with the updated operational deployment concept for the area, which includes tailored preparedness for security challenges, integration of technological means, and strengthening the barrier, while coordinating and cooperating with security forces.

In addition, the Inspector General was presented with enforcement and governance operations being carried out in the seam line area, including ongoing activity to prevent infiltration and entry, thwarting terror activities, locating illegal residents, and dealing with illegal infrastructure, as part of the effort to strengthen the sense of security of the residents in the area.

Following the visit, a field tour was conducted along the seam line, during which the Inspector General observed the operational challenges in the area, the deployment of forces, the use of means, and the actions taken to prevent infiltrations, thwart terror, and enhance the sense of security of the residents in the area.

Israel Police officers and Jerusalem Envelope Border Police fighters, in full cooperation with all security forces, are operating in the Jerusalem seam line area to address the security challenges in the region, prevent infiltrations and entry, thwart terror activities, locate illegal residents, and strengthen the sense of security of the residents, as part of ongoing preparedness to maintain security and public order.
