Israel Police preparations for the Tel Aviv Marathon 2026

The Israel Police have completed operational preparations ahead of the Tel Aviv Marathon, which will take place on Friday, February 27, 2026, between 05:30 and 13:00.
Tens of thousands of runners are expected to participate across all race categories.
Approximately 1,000 police officers, Border Police, and volunteers will be deployed along the race route and at gathering and finishing points to safeguard public safety, ensure the security of participants and spectators, direct traffic, and facilitate the event in a safe and orderly manner.
Preparations included comprehensive operational planning, advance patrols along the race route, and full coordination with Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality, event organizers, Magen David Adom, Fire and Rescue Services, and all relevant emergency and rescue agencies.
During the event, roads along the race route, as well as connecting and intersecting streets, will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 04:00 until 13:30.
Scope of closures:
▪️ Northern area: Glilot Junction, 2040 Street, Levi Eshkol, Agnon.
▪️ Eastern area: Weizmann, KKL, Bnei Ephraim.
▪️ Western area: Coastal Road, Herbert Samuel, Kaufmann.
▪️ Southern area: Shlavim, Ben Zvi, Elifelet, Kibbutz Galuyot, Jaffa Port area, and Clock Tower Square.
Main roads closed from 04:00:
– Rokach Boulevard from Shitrit to Dizengoff in both directions.
– Ibn Gabirol from Shaul HaMelech to Agnon in both directions.
– Agnon from Ibn Gabirol to Levi Eshkol.
– Levi Eshkol from Einstein to Agnon southbound.
– HaYarkon, Herbert Samuel, and Kaufmann along their entire length.
– Nahum Goldman from Kaufmann to Clock Tower Square.
– Dizengoff from the Exhibition Grounds to Ibn Gabirol.
– Ben Gurion Boulevard from Ben Yehuda to Ibn Gabirol.
– King George from HaNevi’im to Borochov.
– Rothschild Boulevard from Ben Zion to Mazeh.
Major traffic arteries:
Namir Road will be closed from approximately 05:00 to 11:45 between Glilot Junction and Shlomo Goren in both directions.
Highway 20 (Ayalon) will remain open northbound and southbound throughout the marathon. However, entry and exit at Rokach Interchange will not be possible between 04:00 and 13:30.
Guidelines for participants and the public:
-It is recommended to arrive by Israel Railways and exit at the University Station.
-Use public transportation and check for changes to bus routes in advance.
-Road closures will be marked in the Waze app on the day of the event.
-Avoid driving in affected areas and plan accordingly.
Recommended parking areas:
▪️ Bnei Brak industrial zone, HaYarkon Street.
▪️ Ramat Gan Stadium parking lot, Sheshet HaYamim Street.
▪️ Kiryat Shaul, Moshe Sneh and Bnei Ephraim areas.
▪️ Parking on HaBarzel and Raul Wallenberg streets.
▪️ Refidim parking lot.
▪️ Tel Aviv University parking areas, George Weiss Street.
▪️ Arlozorov Train Station parking.
▪️ Expo Tel Aviv and Drive-In parking lots (until 06:00 only).
The Israel Police will operate with reinforced forces to ensure the safe and secure conduct of the event. The public is asked to remain patient, follow police instructions, and stay updated on traffic changes.
