High air pollution expected nationwide
High air pollution nationwide is forecast, driven by North African dust. Sensitive populations advised to limit outdoor strenuous activity.
The high air pollution is linked to southwesterly winds causing the transport of North African dust to our region.
In light of this, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection recommend that sensitive populations – including heart patients, lung patients, the elderly, children, and pregnant women – avoid strenuous physical activity outdoors. For the general population, it is recommended to reduce strenuous physical activity outdoors.
The public will be updated as needed and according to forecast data and data measured at monitoring stations across the country.
Monitoring stations can be followed on the website and in the “Air in the Environment” app of the Ministry of Environmental Protection.
