Jerusalem, 15 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The UN’s review report on the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) in Israel has been published, within the framework of the Convention’s international review mechanism. The report includes a comprehensive examination of the implementation of the Convention in two key areas: prevention of corruption and asset recovery.
The report states that Israel operates a broad and well-established framework for preventing corruption, which includes detailed legislation, oversight mechanisms, dedicated bodies, and inter-ministerial and international cooperation. Among other things, systematic mechanisms for assessing corruption risks and integrating them into work plans, drawing lessons from past cases, the existence of permanent inter-ministerial forums to promote integrity, as well as a well-developed regulation of conflicts of interest and mechanisms for merit-based recruitment in the public service are commended.
Asset recovery and money laundering:
In this area, the report notes that Israel has an advanced legal and institutional framework that enables broad and effective international cooperation, including the seizure, confiscation, and return of assets derived from crime. The functioning of dedicated asset management units is also emphasized, alongside effective cooperation with countries and international bodies.
