Jerusalem, 20 May, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Committee for Fundamental Planning Issues (CPPI) approved the plan being promoted by the Ministry of Construction and Housing through the Rural Affairs Administration to establish a new settlement in the Eshel HaNassi area in the Negev. This is another significant step towards advancing the settlement, which will next be discussed and approved by the National Planning and Building Council.
The new settlement is expected to include approximately 500 community-based housing units, and is one of several settlements being promoted by the Ministry of Construction and Housing as part of a comprehensive plan to strengthen settlement, expand residential options, and establish new growth engines in the periphery.
“The plan expresses a long-term vision that sees the Negev as a central destination for development, while creating quality living spaces, strengthening local communities, and expanding the housing supply in the area,” said the Ministry.
