Jerusalem, 8 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Religious Services said it is demonstrating “unprecedented momentum” and positioning itself as a “leading, egalitarian, and family-supporting government ministry.” Official data published by the Ministry on the occasion of Gender and Employment Equality Day shows that it recorded an impressive increase in the Civil Service Commission’s gender equality index, with a score of 80.1 points (a sharp increase compared to 74.3 the previous year).
The Ministry said this reflects a “planned management strategy, emphasizing the development of quality human capital, promoting women to management positions, integrating different shades of Israeli society, and providing an advanced framework for egalitarian parenting.”
Of the Ministry’s 114 employees, 66 are women (approximately 58% of the total workforce). The data indicate a dominant and high-quality female presence, especially at the central management and operational levels, which constitute the firm’s professional work skeleton. At the middle management level, for example, there is double the representation of women – 20 female managers compared to only 10 male managers.
