Jerusalem, 28 January, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar spoke with his Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha while on a visit to that country.

Sa’ar said he “expressed our solidarity with the people of Ukraine and condemned the Russian attacks against civilians.” And that he “conveyed our hope that an agreement will soon be reached to end the war.”

The two also discussed Iran’s brutal massacre of its own people by the Revolutionary Guards, which Sa’ar called, “one of the darkest events in the history of Iran and humanity” and Sa’ar stressed the need for Ukraine’s Parliament to designate the IRGC as a terror organization.

Sybiha said said he “briefed my colleague on the consequences of Russia’s massive attacks and our urgent needs to restore Ukraine’s energy infrastructure” and that the two “also discussed the development of the peace process aimed at achieving a lasting peace.”

They also exchanged views on key issues of our bilateral agenda and common security threats, including those posed by the Iranian regime.

“Ukraine strongly condemns brutal violence and repressions of the Iranian authorities against their own people,” he said. “International pressure on Tehran must be scaled up in response to so many people killed and injured.”

“Grateful to my colleague for a constructive dialogue and solidarity with the Ukrainian people,” added Sybiha.
