Israeli FM Gideon Sa’ar and Paraguayan FM Ruben Ramirez Lezcano met in Jerusalem, praising Paraguay's embassy move and its IRGC terror designation.
Jerusalem, 8 February, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem with Paraguayan Foreign Minister Ruben Ramirez Lezcano. The meeting began with a one-on-one of the foreign ministers, which was followed by an expanded meeting with the participation of the bilateral teams.
“We appreciate Paraguay’s moral decision to move its embassy to Jerusalem,” said Sa’ar. “The Iranian regime spreads terror beyond the Middle East, including to Latin America and we commend Paraguay’s designation of the IRGC as a terror organization.”
Sa’ar went on to say that, “Paraguay is one of Israel’s greatest friends in the world and we’re strengthening our long-term strategic partnership!”
Sa’ar also praised Paraguayan President Pena’s decision in April 2025 to designate Iran’s Revolutionary Guards as a terror organization.
