Jerusalem, 14 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The government has approved a budget addition of 100 million Shekels ($34 million) to strengthen informal education in Israel. The budget will be directed to the central support regulations of the Society and Youth Administration at the Ministry of Education, including youth movements, the service year, Ofek preparatory schools, student villages and educator groups.

“The supported frameworks constitute a central pillar of informal education in Israel and work to Promote young leadership, volunteerism, social involvement, community resilience and encouragement for meaningful service,” said the Ministry of Education.

The budgetary addition will make it possible to maintain and even expand the activities of the frameworks, despite the budgetary challenges and the many needs that have arisen in recent times. This will ensure the continued activity of the leading frameworks in the field and the provision of educational, values and community solutions to hundreds of thousands of teenagers and young adults throughout the country.
