Jerusalem, 9 March, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Ministry of Construction and Housing, through the Rural Affairs Administration and in cooperation with the Northward Development Administration, is promoting what it called a “unique initiative” to accelerate development in four communities adjacent to the country’s northern border fence: Avivim, Adamit, Margaliot and Zar’it.

The move comes against the backdrop of a slowdown in land sales following the “Iron Swords” War in Gaza, alongside the government’s policy to continue strengthening settlement in the border communities.

During the Gaza war, and again now during the war with Iran, northern areas were evacuated and suffered heavily under rocket and missile fire by Hezbollah Terrorists based in Lebanon.

As part of the move, for the first time, pre-financing of approximately 23 million Shekels ($7.3 million) will be provided to promote development work in new residential neighborhoods in these localities, with the aim of enabling development tenders and the delivery of plots to residents who have already been absorbed into the localities and to future residents.

This involves the development of approximately 162 housing units in the four communities.
