Jerusalem, 15 April, 2026 (TPS-IL) — Israel’s Air Force struck more than 200 Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours, the Israel Defense Forces said Wednesday, as the military pressed its offensive against the terror group’s Bint Jbeil stronghold.
The IDF said the targets included terrorists, military compounds and roughly 20 rocket launchers.
Hezbollah rocket fire from Lebanon hit northern Israel on Wednesday morning, injuring a 61-year-old man in the Israeli-Arab city of Tamra. Medical officials said he suffered shrapnel injuries and was taken to the Rambam Hospital in Haifa. A second person was treated for shock.
Israel continued to surround the village of Bint Jbeil, where around 100 Hezbollah personnel have been killed in recent days. The village is about two kilometers from the border and overlooks several Israeli communities. On Sunday, Israeli Forces raided a hospital in Bint Jbeil used by Hezbollah to store and transfer weapons, conduct surveillance, and even fire on soldiers.
The IDF also renewed its widespread evacuation warning for residents in southern Lebanon, urging civilians to move north of the Zahrani River.
On Tuesday, representatives from Israel and Lebanon agreed in Washington to advance toward direct negotiations, following their first formal meeting since 1993. The talks were hosted by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and included both countries’ ambassadors to the United States.
Israeli Ambassador Yechiel Leiter said the meeting reflected a new understanding between the sides, saying they were “on the same page regarding regional reality.” He added that Hezbollah’s influence is the central obstacle, saying Lebanon is “effectively under Hezbollah’s control.”
