Jerusalem, 17 June, 2026 (TPS-IL) — The Water Authority inaugurated the new Ariel-Shafdan transmission line, one of the most significant projects in the field of sewage infrastructure in Israel, which is expected to prevent the discharge of wastewater into the environment, protect water sources, and strengthen development and sustainability in the Samaria region.

The Shafdan Wastewater Treatment Plant serves the greater Tel Aviv area and Ariel is a city in Samaria.

The move is expected to stop the discharge of approximately 1.5 million cubic meters of wastewater per year into nature and rivers.
