Among the central focuses that took place this week:
- Planetanya, Netanya – A peak of curiosity and innovation A powerful production attended by about 10,000 visitors! Throughout the week participants enjoyed an interactive and captivating space fair. The activity included a special event for children with special needs, an inspirational visit by astronaut Dr. Sian Proctor and a visit by the new Mayor. All the events were proudly led by “Planetanya Youth” guides – the future generation of space leaders in Israel.
- Ofakim – Science, inspiration and experience for the general public The Science Center was filled with a space atmosphere and hosted about 900 visitors who enjoyed about 12 experiential activity stations and a huge planetarium. Visitors took an active part in creation, closely discovered Israeli space developments and became researchers for a day, with each participant leaving with a technological souvenir they built themselves.
- Haifa – “A Journey Among the Stars” at Madatech The Space Week in Haifa culminated with 1,945 visitors who enjoyed virtual reality experiences and fascinating science shows. Alongside the celebration for the general public, a special empowerment day was held that connected space researchers with the future generation of science and engineering in Israel.
- Jerusalem – Discovering what’s “Beyond the Sky” At the Bloomfield Science Museum, nearly 2,000 visitors dove into the depths of Eitan Stibbe’s journey. Among model building, rocket launches and rare exhibits, visitors discovered what real life in space looks like and became researchers for a day.
- Usfiya – A glimpse into Israel’s official solar observatory At the SOLARIS complex a professional space fair was held which was attended by about 600 participants from all over the North. Visitors enjoyed hologram exhibits, escape rooms and planetarium shows, and received a rare glimpse into the most advanced research solar observatory in the Middle East. Additionally, we celebrated in Nof Hagalil with the “Back to the Moon” festival at V Planet – and in Ma’ale Hanan we inaugurated the new Mega Space center of the Kinneret Emekim cluster with hundreds of participants who went on missions on lunar soil.
